If you've ever wanted the Splendour In The Grass experience, but you're not a huge fan of mud, then you're in luck, because the Splendour team have just announced Splendour XR, a virtual reality version of the festival.

You'll be able to immerse yourself in a recreation of Splendour's Byron Bay venue, moving about in virtual reality. Move from stage to stage, and check out some huge sets with your mates, without leaving your couch.

Day 1 of the festival is set to be headlined by Khalid, while Day 2 will be headlined by The Killers. Other highlights include Charli XCX, Denzel Curry, Masked Wolf, The Avalanches and much, much more - you can check out the full line-up below.

If you grab a Single Day or Weekend ticket, you'll be able to access the festival on your phone, tablet, computer, or VR device. You can then create an avatar of yourself (so make sure you choose your fave festival outfit), and walk through the Splendour grounds. Gumboots optional.

The festival experience has been developed in conjunction with San Francisco's Sansar, who say the event is going to be the most impressive virtual live event that the consumer market has ever seen, and we can say that with absolute confidence”.

The line-up for Splendour XR also offers some hints on who's going to be playing the IRL Splendour In The Grass, which is still on track for November this year. No artists from the virtual Splendour will be playing the IRL version.

The festival will go from 12pm to 2am AEST on Saturday July 24th and Sunday July 25th, and if you want to grab tickets, you can do so here. Currently, Early Bird weekend tickets are $34.99, or $19.99 for a Single Day - so it's cheap as chips. A festival experience where you can have a great shower afterwards. What's not to love?
