Ever since Swedish indie-tronica trip hoppers Little Dragon released Nabuma Rubberband last month, there hasn’t been a day that the album has wandered too far from our stereo and to use the term high rotation would be a bit of an understatement.
We might only be halfway through the year but Nabuma Rubberband is already a lock for a spot on our best of 2014 album list and lead single Klapp Klapp is right up there as far as tracks go.
So, that’s what we’ve been listening to, but what about Little Dragon themselves?? We asked them to take part in our TGIF playlist series, where acts give us a bunch of their favourite party jams and they came through with the goods complete with some fun commentary!
Check the list below and you’ll no doubt agree with us when we say a Little Dragon party is a party we want to be invited to.
Here’s hoping some of you were lucky enough to score tickets to their sold out Australian shows in August.
Eno . Hyde - DBF
New High Life jam with a twist from two legendary British gents.
Die Antwoord - I Fink U Freeky
Trancy party banger from the finest freeks.
Chaka Khan - I Feel For You (Extended 12 inch Remix)
Damn fine party jam, never gets old.
Kelis & Andre 3000 - Millionaire
Mmm party chills. Rewind!
Cajmere Ft. Dajae - Brighter Days
Argh! argh! Whoop whoop!
Janet Jackson - If (Kaytrananda Remix)
Kaytranada brings out bass from hell with vocals from heaven.
Armando- Don’t Take It
Girls are taking over the world! More acid baselines!
Paul Simon- You Can Call Me Al
Guaranteed party starter that makes everyone smile. The Flight Facilities edit is also quite banging.
Chaka Demus & Pliers- Murder She Wrote
Another Rewind!!!
Mark Morrison- Return of the Mack
Sing along song in shiny leather.
R Kelly- Ignition Remix
When the remix is better, best & banging.
Miguel - Adorn
Sexy slow jam with deep bass.
Beyonce- Drunk In Love
For when you’ve had too much of the good stuff and you’re probably making a fool out of yourself giving a lap dance and singing along to the lyrics at a random persons after party. Great song tho!
