*Woop! Woop!* Today marks the release of The Wombats brand new Glitterbug album and to celebrate its birth we caught up with one third of the indie-alt-pop-rock trio to find out what’s currently on The Wombats walkman as part of our TGIF series of playlists.

Bass/Keys player/all-round nice guy Tord øverland Knudsen got the call up and came through with a list of 12 jams, in which he shows that home is where the heart is/jams are by including a bunch of fellow Norwegians in the list.

Check out his tune selections and short run down of each one below and then go and cop their new record which just like the ones that came before it, is bursting at the seams with catchy indie pop jams.

    TGIF with Tord/The Wombats

    Passion Pit - Lifted Up

New single from Passion Pit sounds bigger and catchier than ever. My soundtrack for the long flights on our recent Oz-trip.

Apothek - Waiting For the Thunder
A new Norwegian duo, making electronic music somewhere in between Radiohead and The Postal Service. Good songwriting and really interesting production.

    Jennifer Davies - Choke
A Liverpool based artist that i’ve had the pleasure to work with and this was her second single from her Lapse of Time EP. Edgy pop along the lines of Dragonettes/Robyn/Charli XCX.

Team Me - Kick and Curse
Norwegian indie poppers Team Me just released 2nd album Blind as Night -an album everyone should check out! If Sufjan Stevens had Weezer as a backing band I could imagine it sounding a bit like these.

    Everything Everything - Distant Past
A proper mad new song from Everything Everything. I love the fact that it is so unpredictable, but still as catchy as a pop tune.

Kishi Bashi - Philosophize In It! Chemicalize With It!
Don’t know much about this band, but got this album at the Rough Trade shop in New York as it was on one of the listening stations there. This was the track that grabbed my attention. A blend of Shugo Tokumaru,Vampire Weekend and The Shins.

Daft Punk, M83 & Big Black Delta - Fall (Remix)
This is taken from the remix album of the soundtrack Daft Punk did for the TRON Legacy. This is a great M83 remix of one of the tracks.

    Todd Terje - Delorean Dynamite
Electronica legend who made one of my favourite albums of last year.Tasteful electronica with tons of analog synths -super inspirational and Todd Terje is probably to blame for some of the synth sounds on Glitterbug.

    Clor - Hearts on Fire
Sadly Clor only managed to release one album before they split, but their self-titled album is in my opinion an album that didn’t get the recognition it deserved. Hearts on Fire is one of the many quirky and slightly weird pop songs from the album.

Weezer - Say it ain’t so?
One of the highlights from the Blue Album. Although I probably could have picked any song from it though!

Mew - Am I Wry? No.
One of the weirdest pop songs I’ve ever heard that completely blew my mind the first time I heard it. It still blows my mind.

The Postal Service - Such Great Heights
Love the lyrics/sounds/melodies on this track. It was the soundtrack for my years in Uni and never fails to bring back memories from that time.
