The 45rpm Project

I’m releasing a batch of 45rpm’s over the next few months. That’s the thing about significant birthdays: they prompt you to carry out schemes you’ve been daydreaming about. I’ve always loved songs, singles, 45’s … sometimes I can’t go the distance with a whole album, but I’m always willing to be seduced by the beauty of a three minute song.

Here’s #1, it’s called ‘Prove Yourself’ by my band The Incredible Strand. It was recorded at Black Box Studios and was produced by Jeff Lovejoy and myself. Skritch (Tex Perkins’ Dark Horses) engineered it and sings the 'woo woo’s’ with me. The video is a homage to the long gone ABC program Rock Arena. If anyone knows Suzanne Dowling, please let her know the clip is a tribute.

Anyway, I’m releasing a digital single every six weeks for a year. Some of them will appear on CD, maybe one will make it to vinyl, all will be available digitally and they’ll all be collaborative affairs. Some will be songs I’ve written for other artists, and most will be songs I’ve written for my own enjoyment.

Also, I’ve started a 'blog’ detailing the adventure and you can find it HERE

Like I said, it’s all about collaboration. The artwork for the single (pictured above) is a mash up between Karl at Rinzen, Quiksilver and myself.

Thanks for taking the time to read this far and, hopefully, checking the music.

I’m throwing a pebble in the ocean ….

    - Sean Sennett

Ed’s note - you can pick yourself up a copy of the digital single on iTunes
