Thelma Plum is celebrating Ausmusic Month and NAIDOC Week by putting on a very special gig. We're looking forward to this one, because it's been way too long since Thelma played live.
She'll be performing at Brisbane's Old Museum with the help of a few friends - adding a new layer to her debut album Better In Blak. The album recently celebrated its first anniversary, but it sounds as fresh as ever.
Speaking about the gig, Thelma says she's been preparing to play live again with “lots of karaoke nights with friends at home.”
“But I can’t put it into words how keen I am to play a show in front of people. It’s going to be very intimate, COVID-safe… I’m going to have some really special friends perform with me.”
The gig will be happening on Thursday, October 29th - and if you're looking to grab tickets, you can buy them here.
Fear not though. If you're not in Brisbane, or unable to attend, then triple j will be broadcasting the show so you don't miss a thing.
She'll be fresh off playing the AFL Grand Final for this gig, and playing the Old Museum is a great way to celebrate the anniversary of an album that helped Thelma make history.
The title track for Better In Blak came in at #9 of the Hottest 100 of 2019, making her the highest ranking Indigenous artist in the history of the countdown.

We can't wait to see who joins Thelma on stage. Anyone got any idea what Paul McCartney is up to at the moment?
