We're so proud to see the plethora of amazing Australian women finally getting the recognition they deserve, as the Australian Music Prize nominations are released today with a list that's over 50% women.
Among the 20 albums are incredible releases from the likes of Thelma Plum, who only dropped her debut Better In Blak a few weeks ago, Stella Donnelly (Beware Of The Dogs), Alex Lahey (The Best Of Luck Club), Olympia, Julia Jacklin, Hatchie, Jess Ribeiro and more.
The award is in its 15th year and the winner will take home a $30,000 cash prize as well as the title of creating an "album as an important artistic format".
Apparently today's list are just 20 of "many more" nominations to be announced, so keep your eyes peeled for some of your other favourite Aussie records this year.
