Earlier in the week, we brought you the most searched for lyrics of 2016 but now we have the most Googled songs to feast our eyes on.
To the surprise of nobody, Beyoncé's Beyhive were out in strong force this year sending Formation straight to number one. It makes plenty of sense too. It was her first single off Lemonade, she performed it at the superbowl and it was an exclusive to TIDAL for a bit so surely people were googling for other ways to listen.
Straight under that is Prince's Purple Rain which obviously has a lot to do with his passing this year but also it's just a bloody great song. The top three is rounded out by Rae Sremmurd's Black Beatles which kickstarted the whole mannequin challenge.
From there, things get a little more questionable. Mike Posner Grammy-nominated hit I Took A Pill In Ibiza (let that sink in for a bit) is in there as is Desiigner's Panda. DNCE's Cake By The Ocean also got a thrashing on people's keyboards as did Diturbed's version of The Sound Of Silence.
