Vampire Weekend returned to the stage in California this weekend for the first time in four years.
While they used the at the Libbey Bowl in Ojai, California to mostly air old tunes, on the second night Ezra Koenig and co briefly debuted a new song Flower Moon.
Koenig stressed that the song has been referred to by people as, "minor track on the album."
"Can't properly play it anyway, there's a lot of parts to it, and we would also need Steve Lacy," he said before launching into a disjointed version.
His Lacy comment is because the song features the young gun from The Internet who has also worked with Kendrick Lamar.
As for how the album is coming along, Koenig said that it's now 97.3 per cent there.
"If you want the album to be done, imagine how we feel," he said.
Their headline set at Splendour In The Grass is one of the next shows the band will play. Let's hope for more new music then.
