    Lisa Mitchell has dropped a cover of The OC theme song and be still our beating, nostalgic hearts.

    Mitchell has given the Phantom Planet classic a whimsical, acoustic re-work and it's giving us all the feels this Friday.

    As always, Mitchell has given it her own, special touch but we're pretty stoked to find out that she's also a fan of the classic teen drama.

    "Like every kid born a stones-throw of 1990, it goes without saying that I have watched every episode of, ‘The OC'," she wrote on Facebook.

    "Therefore it is a high-school dream-come-true to have made my own version of the theme-song of the series, ‘California,’ by Phantom Planet."

    What a song. What a cover.
