Scottish quartet Django Django recently took over the 6 Mix on BBC for two hours and played a crazy eclectic mix of music including jams by Cat Stevens, The Clash, Major Lazer, Paul McCartney, Daft Punk, Nas, Grace Jones and many many more (42 to be exact)
This years nominees for the prestigious Mercury Prize have been finalised and when you see who’s got a look in you realise it’s been a pretty damn strong year for music in the motherland.
Below are our personal faves from the list but if we had to choose, our money’s on the ill manored Plan B to take out the trophy and £20,000 large.

The role of art (and art schools) in Rock music is well documented. So many great bands formed and conceived themselves at art school that the list is too long to mention.
