When it comes to hip hop memorabilia the Beastie Boys are connoisseurs; true understanders of the value of brand and its potential for useless (but collectible and subsequently expensive) offshoots. Even as we speak the brilliant UNIQLO store in Japan is featuring several Beasties derived T’s in its summer range.

But very few acts have their own designer wallpaper. As in real wallpaper you put on Walls, not something for your computer. So collectors, up your game and paper the smallest room in Mike D’s hand printed Brooklyn wallpaper:
 

It sucks a big one that we’re not able to get along to the Grouplove & Portugal. The Man US tour… but hey, it’s not all bad, at least we can enjoy the radder than rad collaborative artwork they whipped up for the flyer.

One of many reasons is the social conscience they bring to their music, a social conscience that has most recently been brought to bear to raise awareness for the endangered Sumatran Tiger, of which only 400 remain in the wild.

It was a hot summer’s day in Los Angeles when I was first introduced to the sweet sounds of Haim. A friend and I were driving down La Cienega Boulevard we had just picked up the sampler EP made of recycled paper, stamped HAIM (a stamp being the official hipster seal of approval yeah).

Sometimes we start to feel that we’re more like a Portugal. The Man appreciation page than any kind of actual music blog… but hey.. it’s not our fault everything they do is super rad.
