Maybe I’m still coming down from Unify The Gathering or slowly getting amped for Soundwave, or it may be more likely the Dutch optimism that came with my 2nd six pack of Melbourne Tinnies, but it feels like the Hottest 100 actually got kinda heavy for a bit there.

The metalhead’s paradise. Soundwave audience is one of the best festival audiences around (apart from one absolute idiot of course). Always respectful of bands, security, organisers, each other… and photographers.
Last night I attended the System Of A Down sideshow at the Sydney Entertainment Centre.
The show was absolutely amazing and the fact it was getting recorded for a live album seemed to make the guys really bring their A game. The teenager inside me loved every second, as they belted out a 27 song set across an hour and a half. And I think I forgot how good of a vocalist Serj Tankian is – totally on-key, powerful, and distinctive!
