As the anticipation builds for the release of Royal Blood’s debut long player this Friday we thought we’d revisit an interview that resident wordsmith Wax Volcanic penned ahead of the guys’ first trip (as a band) down under back in May/June of this year*

We’re a bit worried that not enough people remember the King of Rock… That’s the real King of Rock we’re talking about, not Alex Turner.

Elvis was (of course) the perfect combination of dangerous and wholesome, style and mass appeal, looks and substance and the greatest singer ever. Yes really.

There’s quite a lot of heat around Fat White Family, a distinctly grubby squat based pub-rock band from London.

There’s not much to say about the hype except they have a great logo (above); are big fun live (apparently); have a song dubiously but excellently called “Is It Raining In Your Mouth?”; hung a banner with “The Bitch Is Dead” when Thatcher went; record for Hate Hate Hate Records (good); hate Alex “Arctic Monkey” Turner (about time someone did); and (more importantly) their song “Touch The Leather” is great and better in its “redux” version which is slinky.
