I love the ridiculousness. I love his inappropriateness. I love that in this age of political correctness he will occasionally get up onstage and do something completely egotistical, and slightly insane. I love that no matter how influential he was on his debut album, he’s quite comfortable playing a Katy Perry sample out in his live show, complete with lazers. I think (call me weird) the world needs more Kanyes. Fuck Taylor swift - bring on the crazy.
I arrived at Goodgod Small Club on Friday night to watch Royal Headache, one of Sydney’s most exciting DIY bands, launch their much-anticipated debut LP. I was asked by the door bitch if I had tickets to the show. I did, I had purchased them a few weeks ago. “You’re one of the lucky ones,” she told me. The gig had sold out, as I expected it would, and all night she had been turning away those who had exercised less forethought.
