I honestly believe the best kind of gig is a comeback gig. A band returning to the loving embrace of their hometown after slogging it out and making it big overseas is a joy to be a part of. The whole atmosphere is different. It’s like the city is throwing a welcome home party.
Well this is cool… You can now download yourself the full live sets from the Red Hot Chili Peppers recent run of Big Day Out shows through the bands website.
This will especially come in handy for those Sydneysiders who had to endure the 1000 degree heat out at Homebush, as now you can enjoy it sans sweat, southern cross tattoos and denim cut-off exposed butt cheek.
I’d made the mistake last year of not attending any concerts as part of the Vivid LIVE festival in Sydney, and as a result missed The Cure play their first three albums live and in full, so this year I vowed not to make the same mistake twice. My first choice was Sydney experimental-electro trio Seekae, and managed to get my self two tickets to the sold-out performance, and boy was I glad I did.
