This year saw Golden Features emerge from the darkness, seemingly from out of nowhere to bring us his deep eponymous EP. A dark deep house affair that has sent him on a steady trajectory to become of this countries breakout dance music artists.

DJ/producer/beat digger/kung fu movie aficionado/all around nice guy Paul Nice has come through with the goods by blending Lorde’s Royals with The Beatles/John Lennon’s Come Together.

It’s featured on a compilation of remixes, edits & blends that Paul has put together that features tastefully reworked tunes of Marvin Gaye, Diana Ross, Michael Jackson, The Doobie Brothers, Sade, D'Angelo, ATCQ and a bunch more.
 

Leave it up to James Murphy to come through with something as rad/ridiculous as this… The former LCD Soundsystem frontman teamed up with IBM and using an algorithm, turned real-time data from the US open into 189 tracks (clocking in at a whopping 400 hours) of bleeps and beats that would provide the perfect soundtrack to an 8 or 16 bit video game.

 

One of our favourite discoveries of 2014 has been Sydney producer Golden Features and now that triple j are flogging the crap out of his Tell Me jam (better late than never guys) we’re not going to be alone.

There’s some love for Lil Silva with many people listing him in their best new producers category and all sorts of peeps like Kanye coming calling.
