After Lemonade dropped there was a rumour that JAY-Z and Beyoncé were working on a joint album together but we never heard anything more. Until now.
JAY has confirmed that the album does exist and they were working on it around the time that Lemonade was released.
He was asked by T Magazine whether there was ever a discussion about the pair putting out personal records and he responded, “It didn’t happen that way.... We were using our art almost like a therapy session. And we started making music together.”
Here's the bit you really need to pay attention to though. He continued, "And then the music she was making at that time was further along. So her album came out as opposed to the joint album that we were working on. Um, we still have a lot of that music. And this is what it became. There was never a point where it was like, ‘I’m making this album.’ I was right there the entire time.”
