Two of the biggest names in local music have joined forces, with the great Harvey Sutherland reworking Budjerah's Ready For The Sky to create one of the year's best remixes.
Originally released back in July, Ready For The Sky was released as a powerful anthem about wanting to get out and enjoy life for all it has to offer. "'Ready For The Sky’ was written back in 2020," Budjerah explained upon its release, “when everyone really wanted to go out and have fun again, and I wanted to talk about that ambitious feeling I had of being ready to go back into the world."
Now, Harvey Sutherland has shared his unique take on the track, turning Budjerah's original into a disco infused dance floor anthem, complemented by smouldering soul, R&B stylings, and deep grooves. "I’m such a fan of Harvey’s music and I’m so excited to share this version with the world," Budjerah said of the remix.
"I reckon Budjerah has one of the best voices in the country, so I was stoked to rework Ready For The Sky – it already sounds like a classic record," Sutherland explained.
"Took the easy groove of the original up to a dance floor tempo and gave it a proper thumpy soulful house treatment, gospel choir and all," he added. "Hands in the air for this one!"

The remix follows on from a busy few months for Budjerah, who recently released his cover of Sweet Disposition, which was recorded alongside Ngaiire and Gretta Ray for The Sound. Late last month, he also teamed up with Ngaiire and The Temper Trap to perform the track at the AFL Grand Final.
