5 things that aren't the Olympics and should be on your radar.
WSTRN - A-List
Our fave English West London-based collective are back with another song with the same undeniable groove as their breakhout hit, 'In2'. The track is by no means in any rush but it doesn't need to be; gently moving the beat alongside the trio's rhythmic banter-like lyrics. 'A-List' is the next official single from their anticipated full-length debut album, due out at the tail-end of this year.
Dillon Francis & NGHTMRE's 'Need You' remix package
This is technically more than one song but it deserves its place in this list. Dillon Francis & NGHTMRE's moombahton-bangin' 'Need You' has received its own remix package, feat. faves ShockOne, A Boy & A Girl and heaps more. If you thought this track couldn't get more heavy-hitting, you thought wrong. Each artist has provided their own individual interpretation of the track, switching up and stretching it into several different directions. While Trav Piper and Billz inject air horns and even Soulja Boy samples into their version, ShockOne introduces some of his signature drum and bass flavour. Each remix deserves its own listen, just be sure to hydrate in between.
RAYE - I, U, Us
You may not have heard of RAYE before but there's no time like the present. Fresh off the heels of collab-ing with Stormzy earlier this year for the slinky 'Ambition', the 18 year-old has now teamed up with Charli XCX for the bangin' 'I, U, Us'. While Charli XCX is behind the written part of the song, you can hear her signature sound shining through. Oh, and she also directed the video which makes so much sense. You'll be hearing a lot from RAYE in the future so keep your eyes out for this one.
Lower Spectrum - Atlas (Movements I & II)
We were lucky enough to premiere the newest single from Lower Spectrum, a 12-minute, pulsating epic that ebbs and flows in all the right places. If you're a fan of the Aussie producer's atmospheric electronica then you're in for a treat - 'Atlas' is some seriously beautiful stuff. The best news? The track's available for a free download which you can nab here.
Mø - Lost (Frank Ocean Cover)
Yes, we are aware that Frank Ocean has not dropped his album yet. No, we don't want to talk about it. But what we do want to talk about is this amazing 'Lost' cover courtesy of Mø which has, dare we say, made the wait for 'Boys Don't Cry' just the smallest bit less painful. The Danish singer-songwriter has twisted the song into her own style, almost transforming it into an entirely different track altogether. While we could be angry at her for teasing us with the closest thing to new Frank material we've had in a long time, you have to commend her for daring to cover something that's such a hot topic right now. You also can't deny her awesome stage presence in her mesmerising performance in the video below.
