This week wasn't all about Frank Ocean, y'know.
Mac Miller - We (feat. CeeLo Green)
Straight off the back of the groovin', Anderson .Paak-featuring 'Dang!', Mac Miller's gone ahead and dropped another gem. This time collab-ing with CeeLo Green, 'We' slows things down a bit, making for a floaty and seductive addition to his upcoming album, 'The Divine Feminine'. Real talk, we're so keen for TDF to drop (16 September, FYI). With guest spots from Ty Dolla $ign, Ariana Grande and Kendrick Lamar, it's set to be huge. We don't know about you but we're gonna get our pre-orders in quick-smart.
DAWN - Cali Sun
You can always rely on DAWN to create a real club-stomper and her latest, 'Cali Sun', is no expection. It's a dancefloor anthem, twisted with her unique blend of R&B and electronica. The party never stops when DAWN steps onto the scene and, if you don't already have her in all your party playlists, you really should.
What So Not - Divide & Conquer
If you're still in that aforementioned party playlist of yours, you should be adding this one too. What So Not's newie, 'Divide & Conquer', is as triumphant as the name suggests. Named as the lead single of his upcoming EP, this thumping track is bound to blow some speakers. It's glitchy, bass-heavy, frenetic and what we like to hear from WSN. If this is a sign of what's to come on the EP (out 9 Sept), we're bloody hyped.
Danny Brown - Pneumonia
Danny Brown's forthcoming album 'Atrocity Exhibition' is coming 30th September and he's given us another hot cut from it to keep anticipation rising. This one's called 'Pneumonia' and it's an icy, experimental hip-hop tune that has Brown digging deep and delivering some serious intensity. It was produced by Evian Christ and features ad libs by Schoolboy Q but it's Brown that brings the oddities that make this song so wonky and wild.
Venus II - Hands On Fire
Venus II, a collaboration between Canyons’ Ryan Grieve and Eagle & The Worm’s Jarrad Brown, unleashed their stomping debut album 'Inside Your Sun' on Friday. It’s an expansive electro-rock opus that’s likely to melt minds, pump chests and make feet move simply by pressing play. 'Hands On Fire', a pulsing, fast-paced anthem, is one of our faves from the record, giving the same rush as a Berocca on a hungover Sunday morning.
