One of the things that comes with being a musician is having a lot of followers on social media, especially if you're an established artist. Therefore, it shouldn't come as a surprise that sometimes artists want to be able to post things on social media, without having to worry about their wider fanbase.

Some artists have created 'secret' social media accounts to help them connect with fans better, and create an inner circle of fans that they can interact with on a deeper level. Here are some of our favourite secret social media accounts, and what makes them so great.

    Kevin Abstract (BROCKHAMPTON)

BROCKHAMPTON leader Kevin Abstract has so many Instagram accounts it's hard to keep track. There's the BROCKHAMPTON official account, there's his official account, and then his two secret Instagram accounts.

Firstly, there's the public one, @cliffhollywood which was mainly used around the time of the release of their last album, Ginger, but he's apparently been active on it recently, posting and deleting a photo, which has gotten fans excited.

Then there's this one - @kevincinema. It's a private account with less than 4k followers, so if you're lucky enough to be accepted, you should feel pretty good about yourself. Just don't go leaking the photos - Kevin's said in the past he wants the account to stay private.

    Mac Miller

If you're missing Mac Miller as much as we are, maybe this will help. Discovered after his death, it turns out Mac was running a secret Instagram account where he made videos playing a character called Lars, who was his stoner alter ego. You can follow the account at @cloudywithachanceofawesome69

Go watch some of the videos from his account. They're all just as hilarious as this one, which absolutely cracked us up. We miss you, Mac. We all know someone like this.

    Joe Jonas

If you're looking for some wholesome content, go follow Joe Jonas' Instagram account @cupofjoe. It includes pictures of his wife Sophie turner, some cute BTS moments with his brothers Kevin and Nick, as well as some snaps of his other family members. He's living his best life.

    Adele

Like a challenge? Then you'll want to have a crack at attempting to find Adele's secret Twitter account. She's mentioned in the past that her management have stopped her using her Twitter account after she got "mouthy", but she's got a secret one they don't know about.

Speaking at a concert in Australia, Adele said, "I was looking on Twitter last night. They don't know I have a secret account — well, obviously they do now because I said that. By 'they,' I mean my management.

"I'm not allowed access to my own Twitter, because I'm quite mouthy and I say the wrong thing a lot of the time. So they took that privilege away from me." If you find it, let us know - it's a mystery we'd love to solve.

    Justin Bieber

When Justin Bieber went to Coachella back in 2018, he wanted to show off his adventures without judgement. Enter Skylark Tylark. The account saw Bieber's alter-ego post snaps with both Bella Thorne and Post Malone, and it looks like he had a fun time.

You can follow the account at @skylarktylark_, and this post of him and Bella Thorne looks like Bieber is enjoying himself (we think, his facial expression doesn't give much away).

    Lizzo

Lizzo's flute, Sasha Flute, has a 'fan account' run by Lizzo herself. It features Lizzo and Sasha's adventures, and if you're not already following it, it's about time you did, because the account is home to some of Lizzo's most iconic moments.

If you didn't already know, Lizzo isn't just a great rapper, but one of the best flautists we've ever heard. Multi-talented? Yes indeed. Follow the account at @sashabefluting, and put some respect on Sasha's name.

    Ariana Grande

Ariana Grande has an emotional support pig Piggy Smallz (no surprises for guessing the inspiration for the name), and from time to time she'll post videos from the perspective of Piggy, which is so adorable.

If you're looking for a pick-me-up, go follow @piggysmallz on Instagram, and you'll get to watch a heap of videos like the one below, which is as adorable as it gets. Pigs are cute, but we're happy to live vicariously through Ariana on this one. They look like such hard work to keep happy!

    Lauv

Lauv has a secret Instagram account, @notlauv, where things get a little wild. Here's an example of the kind of content you can expect when you follow notlauv - it's confusing, but it makes us love Lauv even more.

He sometimes likes to pretend that it's not him behind the account, but really, we all know the truth.
