Last month saw fans get the first taste of BRONSON, the collaboration between ODESZA and Golden Features in HEART ATTACK, featuring lau.ra and VAULTS - and there's even more good news. BRONSON has released the music video for HEART ATTACK, and it's a feat of technology.
The video opens on a cityscape that is in ruins, with a sense of despair engulfing everything that's shown. A female figure emerges to be the hero of the video - fighting against violent winds that threaten to blow everything away.
Heart Attack's video was created by Blinkink, who's worked in the past with the likes of Gorillaz, Tame Impala and more. The video uses 3D animation, motion capture, simulated elements and hand-drawn textures - building an immersive landscape that stands to be one of the most impressive music videos of the year.
It was directed by Balázs Simon, who says about the video, “As we couldn’t assemble a big team together due to lockdown, we needed a less conventional way of doing this, where all departments had to work separately – without really seeing the whole picture!
"We had to rely on our imaginations. We went out to the empty streets of Budapest and shot camera moves without any subject, then we rehearsed movements in a park, did some motion capture, and from there we took the stay-at-home ordinances to heart – locking ourselves in for a couple of weeks and assembling all the collected data into this video. It was an intensive experience with an amazing team of talented friends, and it made our days much more bearable!”
Check out the video below - it's a beautiful watch, and complements the energy of the song perfectly.
