After almost six months of waiting since the huge hit 1999 with Troye Sivan, Charli XCX is back with new music and the start of her next era and she's burst back into our lives with soul queen and woman of the moment, Lizzo.
The pair have been coyly teasing a collab for a little while now, and Blame It On Your Love delivers. It's a dance-pop jam, far more mature than the deliberately kitschy 1999, that samples Charli's own song Track 10 from her mixtape Pop 2.
Produced with Stargate and long-time PC Music collaborator A.G. Cook, we're hoping Blame It On Your Love is the first taste of what will be a proper LP from Charli rather than a mixtape. She told us back in January that 2019 would definitely bring an album, so we're waiting with bated breaths.
Lizzo has been going from strength to strength too - in the last six months or so, she's appeared at Ellen, Jimmy Fallon, Trevor Noah, RuPaul's Drag Race, Coachella, Lollapalooza, the Met Gala and in a ton of magazines like Playboy, Essence, V Magazine, CLASH and Allure off the back of her groundbreaking record, Cuz I Love You, and its lead single Juice.
She's gearing up now for Primavera Sound and Glastonbury.
