FACT:Charli XCX has officially arrived as a bonafide star.
Look, there’s a strong argument to say that it had more to do with her featuring on THE biggest smash hit of the past 6 months by way of Iggy Azalea’s Fancy but deep down we like to think it has something to do with the fact we’ve been carrying on about Charli XCX to anyone that would listen to us for the past 2 and a bit years…
Whatever the case may be, Charli is well and truly on her way to full blown mega stardom and judging by what we’ve heard so far, it’s going to be her new album Sucker that will tip the scales and give the world the best darn anti-pop star there is.
We already know the album will feature the chart topping Boom Clap and the middle finger to establishment anthem Break The Rules and now we’ve been lucky enough to get a cheeky premiere of the lyric video for her latest tune London Queen.
Charli, who normally writes or at least co-writes her own material worked with Justin Raisen on the track that she describes sounds like “future Ramones”
Talking to Rolling Stone she had this to say about working with Justin -
Justin Raisen is one of the most amazing producers around right now, and he’s going to blow the fuck up in the next couple of years. That’s something that I would never usually do, take a song that’s basically almost been written for me, but it was a song that Justin made, and I was like, fuck, this song is so good and it feels like it’s about me.
Checkout the video below and head over to iTunes to cop yourself a preorder of Sucker… being that she’s a solid 3 for 3 so far you’d be a sucker not to.
