When his 2014 album, Built On Glass, first came out, Chet Faker was at the top of his game, the name on every electronic lover's lips. The album debuted at #1 and topped the 2014 triple j Hottest 100 with Talk Is Cheap.
Somewhere along the way, the Melbourne musician changed his name to his birth name, Nick Murphy, and dropped the EP Missing Link in 2017. Now, five years since his last studio album, Nick's back with a new song and album announcement.
The album will be called Run Fast Sleep Naked and released April 26th, with a new song called Sanity dropped today to give us a taste of what's coming.
It's pretty different to what we've known from the artist, with the song more steeped in indie/acoustic pop rather than electronic, though it still contains elements.
Nick will also be playing three homecoming shows back in Australia this May in Melbourne, Brisbane and Sydney.
