Client Liaison often pays homage to their musical heroes - Australian legends like INXS, Tina Arena, INXS, John Farnham and more - and it's not a surprise that the duo listen to a lot of music from decades past when creating their modern-retro fusion grooves.
We locked down Monte and Harvey for an arvo to go record shopping with us on Diggin' In The Crates and not only were they a barrel of laughs, but they picked a heap of classic albums from Prince, Joni Mitchell, George Michael and more.
If you love The Real Thing, you can vote for it in the triple j Hottest 100 now right here.
Two artists they picked that may catch you off guard though? Aussie '90s rockers Regurgitator and American nu-metal legends System Of A Down. Harvey picks up SOAD's Toxicity and proudly admits, "I used to listen to nu-metal!", explaining why he thinks nu-metal will be beloved again one day, and jokes about Regurgitator's Mish Mash! - "it is a hunk of steaming cow dung, but I love it."
Meanwhile, Monte picks up the classics like Joni Mitchell which he says is his "all-time favourite album" and Kate Bush, whose record he reckons has a "Carols By Candlelight aesthetic, but haunting and real".
