Once I was just like you, living in a world where anyone actually cool hates Drake. Well I’m here to say why hate the champagne pappi? He’s copped more than enough fuego from the general public purely because the more vocal part of his fan base are literally the furthest from cool there is.

My personal turning point came around a month and a half ago shortly after The Weeknd dropped his fantastic album Kissland, I heard a slick smooth verse rapped perfectly in contrast to the dreaded vocalist. When I looked down to my phone to see who it was and nearly cried, do I like Drake now? So very sneakily I began to listen to Nothing Was The Same and honestly this is some good shit, obviously the atrocity that is Started From The Bottom is a weak point but apart from that it’s pretty damn fine. Plus who can hate someone who played a wheelchair bound high school student on one of the most questionable shows in history and then went on to be one of the biggest hip hop artists in the world? I know I can’t, at least not anymore.

Toronto is not exactly the coolest place to hail from but Drizzy reps it shamelessly, even becoming an executive for the Toronto Raptors who haven’t been any good since Vince Carter was the best player in Like Mike. Apart from all this the dude is not only a fashion icon but is also making it cool to wear sweatpants in public, every man should praise him as some sort of godlike Canadian saviour.

His videos are often hilarious, whether that is intended or not especially the ten minute mini movie that is Worst Behaviour featuring cameos from his crew, father and the one and only Juicy J. The fact that he is practically beef free (apart from whatever Kendrick is doing) might make him seem boring but in a way it seems like a breath of fresh air, often rappers seem so caught up in whatever argument they’re in that they forget to make good music.

I think I’ve probably got my point across, I’m not saying you should become part of the #DRIZZYNATION (unless you’re into lame shit like that) I’m just saying you should give the man a second listen and don’t think about the things that are associated with him and everything that comes with the idea of listening to Drake. You might be surprised.
