In the latest episode of our wonderful and wacky Craft with Kit series we were lucky enough to be joined by the mega-talented/mega-cutie Melanie Martinez! Kit sat down with MM and had a chat about all things crafty and about Melanie's own unmistakable style aesthetic while they decorated big-ass bows. Now... Here's how to make your own big-ass bow!

 

You will need:

A large square of felt

A thin strip of felt

Pillow stuffing

Glue gun

Scissors

Embellishments

Step 1

Fold the square piece of felt in half and glue all the edges closed except for the end to form a rectangular pocket. Do not glue the end closed otherwise this project will be ruined and you might as well give up now.

 

Step 2

Fill the pocket with stuffing via the open end and then seal the whole thing up by glueing the end closed.

 

Step 3

Glue the thin strip of felt around the middle to form a bow shape.

 

Step 4

Use your glue gun to embellish your bow with whatever your inner artist is telling you to decorate with. My inner artist told me to use googly eyes, so that's what I did.

 

What to do with your big-ass bow:

A) Slide it onto a plastic headband to wear in your hair.

B) Pin it to your shirt like a ridiculous bow tie.

C) Attach it to your bag.

D) Glue it on top of a present.

E) All of the above
