2014 has already been shaping up as a pretty epic year for music and it has just leveled up even higher thanks to the news that Canadian dance-punk duo Death From Above 1979 will be releasing a new record in September through Last Gang/Warner.

The Physical World will be the follow-up to 2004’s You’re a Woman, I’m a Machine and considering the band parted ways back in ‘06 before reforming in 2011 we’re counting our lucky stars that this is actually a happening thing.

This from Chris Taylor, label head at Last Gang -

“We can confirm DFA1979 is in the studio making an album set for fall release. Hell has frozen over, dogs and cats living together, mass hysteria….throw in (producer) Dave Sardy (Oasis, Nine Inch Nails) and it is a meeting of truly biblical proportions.”

Head on over to the band’s website to hear the most exciting 2 bar loop you’ll hear all year and stay tuned to Cool Accidents for more info as it comes to hand.

In the meantime we highly recommend raising the volume and excitement levels by revisiting You’re a Woman, I’m a Machine.
