Drake fans love his slow jams, but it turns out that if you're listening to him while running, then he's not going to help you achieve a PB - quite the opposite, in fact.

A study from sportswear brand Pour Moi looked into the effects of music on people's running speed, using data generated from 60 runs by a group of 20 joggers. They then published the results, with some interesting names in the mix.

If you're planning on running a marathon any time soon, then listening to Beyoncé can help you reduce your finishing time drastically. No wonder, too, because Queen B's always been moving at a mile a minute.

The study found that listening to Bey's discography (Run The World seems especially fitting) improved people's times by 23:12. Harry Styles, Britney Spears and Adele also helped people to find another gear.

On the other hand, Drake's music might just be slowing people down. If you're running a marathon any time soon, listening to Certified Lover Boy can add 14:42 to your time. So much for running through the 6...

Other artists that are potentially affecting your PBs include BTS, Doja Cat and Nicki Minaj. If you've been wondering why your times have dropped off recently, maybe it's because you've been blasting Planet HER on repeat.

If you're looking to get an edge when you next run, you can check out the full study here - it might help you build your next running playlist. If you're looking to tear up the tarmac, or the treadmill, then put on some Bey, but if you're looking to take life at a more leisurely pace, then Drake might just be the go.
