Former US First Lady Michelle Obama has shared the first volume of her new playlist series, which includes the music that's inspired her new Spotify podcast.
The former First Lady wrote on social media, “Excited to share with you a new Spotify playlist inspired by the first season of my new podcast. It’s filled with incredible new artists and a whole lot of Black Girl Magic. I hope you’ll give it a listen and follow some of these terrific musicians.”
Amongst some of the world's biggest names, including Beyoncé, Erykah Badu and Kendrick Lamar, are a couple of Aussie acts, which is so cool to see.
Sampa The Great and E^ST both feature on the playlist, proving Michelle knows what's up.Sampa's track Freedom from her debut album The Return has been included, and E^ST's 2018 track Friends is also featured. E^ST was excited about featuring on the playlist, saying "thank u @michelleobama ?? ??" on Instagram. We love seeing great Aussie music getting recognised overseas.
Michelle's new podcast, The Michelle Obama Podcast, launched back in July, and has featured guests like Barack Obama and journalist Michele Norris. Michelle and her guests talk about the biggest issues facing the world currently, including the coronavirus, the US election and more.
