Elon Musk and Grimes have announced the name of their first child, a baby boy - and the name is utterly mystifying.
They've decided to call the baby "X Æ A-12 Musk" (which is sure to be a mouthful, however you pronounce it).
•X, the unknown variable ??
•Æ, my elven spelling of Ai (love &/or Artificial intelligence)
•A-12 = precursor to SR-17 (our favorite aircraft). No weapons, no defenses, just speed. Great in battle, but non-violent ??

We're not quite sure what it means as of yet, though people have been having guesses on Twitter - so here are five of our own guesses as to why Elon and Grimes might have called their baby such an obscure name.

It's the name of Grimes' next album
As a musician, it's important to be on the promotion grind - and Grimes might have just given us the first hint of what her next project will be called. While it's a mouthful, there's no doubt that X Æ A-12 would be a memorable name - so there's some food for thought.
It actually means something completely normal
Everyone's coming at this name as it was written - but there's a chance that the name is completely normal, and the only weird thing is the way Elon chose to express it. For example, Twitter user @langejanne has suggested the name could actually mean Jão - which would mean that it's a normal name after all.
I got Jão.
X = 10 = J
Æ = ã
A - 12 (count backwards) = O— Janne — #TeaMelon ???? May the 4th be with you (@langejanne) May 5, 2020

They accidentally slammed their keyboard when naming the baby
Finding the perfect name can be difficult - so why not let chance take care of it? Elon and Grimes are busy people, so there's every chance they just slammed their hands on a computer keyboard, and let fate decide the name of their first-born. While it sounds farfetched - so does a lot of the things that Elon and Grimes get up to, so it wouldn't surprise us too much if this was the case.
It's code for a secret treasure
When you're a billionaire, it must be hard to keep yourself entertained. It also must be hard to keep your money secure - so why not hide it as part of a secret treasure? If you've ever seen the National Treasure series, you'll know how valuable a secret stash of treasure is - so maybe, the baby's name is the first clue.
We're being trolled
Elon Musk is known for being a bit of a trickster, and this could be no different. After all, he did announce the name on Twitter - where he's often causing mischief, such as recently tweeting that Tesla's stock price was too high. This might just be another one of his tricks - but hey, if it is, it is one of his better trolls.
