Elton John has been playing a few shows in Australia and while he he had a day off he invited Aussie artists Ruel and Winston Surfshirt to hang out.
Elton invited both acts to come and have a chat with him after he played them both on his Beats 1 show Rocket Hour. He spoke to the two acts in Sydney for over an hour, imparting advice that we can only imagine would be gold given who it's coming from.
They are both two of this country's most hyped acts right now. Winston Surfshirt have just released their debut album Sponge Cake which was triple j's feature album and Ruel has supported Angus & Julia Stone this year and will support US R&B artist Khalid soon too.
The legendary muso seems to be in love with Aussie talent at the moment. He also gave a shout out to fellow Aussie artists Alex The Astronaut, Angus & Julia Stone and The Babe Rainbow on his show.
“I don’t know what it is with Australia at the moment but they keep producing the most fantastic music and the artists keep getting younger and younger,” he said.
Glad you're loving our local tunes Elton.
