We absolutely love seeing talented artists getting inspired by their favourite musicians - especially when their connection to the artist manifests in a really original way.
Enter Brazilian artist Felipe Ramos, a 23-year-old artist living in Montreal, Canada who spends his time painting some absolutely epic art from some of his favourite hip hop artists. Chance The Rapper's dad even noticed the art and gave him a hat tip!
Using a Wacom Cintiq 12hd tablet for most of his drawing, Felipe has been drawing since 2015 and mashes up pop culture inspiration with his love for music. Now, he studies concept art in Canada.
"I listen to music a lot, most of the day, and whenever I'm drawing or looking for inspiration, the main place I look is music and to my favourite artists like The Weeknd and Daft Punk. They're artists I listen to most. I also have a really heavy movie and video game background, so it's natural to mash them together for me," Felipe says.
He's also taken on artists like Alec Benjamin, an up-and-coming Arizona singer/songwriter, Amine, Gorillaz and Daft Punk, mashing them up with characters from Spongebob Squarepants, Futurama and Hey Arnold!.
