Flume's never been afraid to indulge in the mysterious. To mark the start of 2022, he's shared a taste of what we can expect from him over the next 365 days, and you can consider us intrigued.

Teaming up once again with visual artist Jonathan Zawada, the 3-minute clip features some ambient, immersive sounds, as well as an all-too-short sample of an unreleased collaboration with Gorillaz lead singer Damon Albarn. Damon can be heard singing at the end, "I thought that beyond the exit/There would be palaces", which Flume has quoted in the description for the video.

It's been a little while since we last heard from Flume, but he's clearly been keeping busy. His 2019 mixtape Hi This Is Flume received a Grammy nomination for Best Dance/Electronic Album, while he dropped The Difference, a collaboration with Toro y Moi, back in mid-2020.

On the other hand, Gorillaz have been active over the last 18 months, releasing Song Machine, Season One: Strange Timez. The album features the likes of ScHoolboy Q, Beck, St. Vincent, Skepta and Elton John, and is one of their most exciting releases to date.
