Foals have dropped a new tune, The Runner, off their upcoming album Everything Not Saved Will Be Lost Part 2, which is set to be their second album for the year. Foals are working harder than ever, and we're here for it.
Earlier this year, the band described part 2, which is out October 18th, as a lot "heavier", and The Runner lives up to that, after a Part 1 which may have subverted many fans' expectations. Part 1 was full of tunes you could dance to, whereas part 2 is set to get moshes going at upcoming Foals gigs.
Speaking about the track, frontman Yannis Philippakis says, “It’s a call to find a sense of purpose and perseverance despite the odds and despite the troubles we may find inside or outside ourselves.”
You can check out the track below, and you'll want to crank up your speakers for this one.
The Runner follows on from the tone set by opening single Black Bull, which has riffs that cut right to the core of what Foals are as a band. They're sounding better than ever, and we can't wait for what this album has in store for us.
