When Golden Features and The Presets announced earlier this week that they would be creating a collaborative EP together, we couldn't believe our ears. Two heavyweights of Australian dance, together? Unreal.
Today the first taste of the team-up has emerged and it's an insanely good song called Paradise. It's euphoric, all-encapsulating and a total showcase of the best of both acts.
Paradise hails from a four-track EP called RAKA which will drop on November 15th, though for now Paradise is more than satisfying.
The coolest part about this collab is how full circle it is for Golden Features' Tom Stell - his first concert was The Presets playing New Year's Eve in 2008/2009, and his first official release was a remix of The Presets' No Fun.
Tom explains, "Their album Apocalypso was one of my first tastes of electronic music and it remains one of my all time favourite albums. So much so that when I was 17 I got a fake ID specifically to go watch them play Shore Thing in Bondi because I didn't want to risk trying to jump and not making the gauntlet.
"So, when they reached out a few months back asking if I wanted to work with them I was truly blown away. I don't really like to collaborate a whole bunch as it can feel contrived but this one just felt right. Thank you to Jules and Kim, it's been a dream."
Too good.
