Adelaide duo Hartway recently dropped their new song Better featuring rapper Cazeaux O.S.L.O and now we've scored the technicolour new video for it, premiering today on Cool Accidents.
We're loving the track's retro synth vibes coupled with Cazeaux's fast flow and Hartway explain that they were keen to explore analog gear on this record.
The video director Rhys Newling reflected this vibe in the clip too, stating, "I took inspiration from some techniques I've been developing for my live video shows. Experimenting with really old cameras I grew up with and some video synthesisers. I'm a huge fan of using older cameras rather than a VHS filter to to get the desired look. You can never beat the real thing."
Hartway's Conor added, "We've been a massive fan of the director Rhys ever since he created some killer live visuals for our show last year at WOMADelaide 2018. We reached out for a music video with a crazy deadline, and somehow he was able to make it happen. Over two days of filming, we flew Jack over from Melbourne, caught Cazeaux O.S.L.O while he was in town for a show, and found the dancer Nicole who just so happened to live across from the studio. Stoked with the result, and so excited to release our first ever music video!"
