At this point, we basically know everything about Flume and Gang Of Youths' Dave Le'aupepe so how the hell did it take us this long to learn they were in a band together?
Back when they were 16, Le'aupepe fronted a band at NSW school Mosman High that performed Curtis Mayfield Move On Up for the school. The saxophonist? Ol' mate Flume.
"We’ve been friends for about 10 years," Le'aupepe told triple j this morning.
“Secret’s out everybody. It’s kind of a weird thing... when you find out two prominent people were mates and been friends all along, it’s sort of not anything we’ve really talked about or publicised because who cares. It’s just a thing."
During high school, they would hang out and make music together but no word on whether they've worked on anything recently.
Given they've both won the ARIA for Album Of The Year, we reckon it's about time they hopped in a studio together.
