Jaden Smith can do it all. The son of Will and Jada Pinkett Smith is a singer, dancer and actor, and has just dropped his new album, ERYS. However, don't let that fool you, as it doesn't mean that he considers himself a musician.
He's had a busy 2019 so far, from turning 21 on July 8th, to serving Australians at Woolies (as well as charitable projects in Flint and L.A), and now Jaden's announced his intentions to become an inventor, inspired by Tesla's Elon Musk.
Speaking to Complex, he says he's switching professions for good. “I’m going to spend all of my time inventing new technologies because I think I’m better at that than making music," Jaden said.
However, fans of his music don't need to fret too much, he'll still be making tunes. Just don't call him a musician. “I’m still going to make music because I invent new songs. I invent new ways to make music, but I’m not a musician."
Jaden also spoke about why he's dropped his last name from streaming services. "Jaden Smith is the guy that does the vegan food truck in L.A., and gets that out to the homeless people, and does the Water Box in Flint, and starts Just Water, and sits down with Al Gore. Jaden is just a musical artist."
Honestly, we can't wait to see what Jaden does in the future. Given what he's already achieved so far, the sky's the limit, and we just hope the music keeps on coming.
