    John Mayer Halsey

Ah, to be rich and do stupid things just for the laughs.

John Mayer - who just dropped a new song last week called I Guess I Just Feel Like - has dealt with the Oscars in a way that us introverts might: by hosting his own A-list Vanity Fair party in his own damn house because he couldn't be bothered going anywhere.

John managed to duplicate the iconic Vanity Fair afterparty red carpet, complete with the logos on the floor and the huge letters behind it. He even had Halsey, Diplo, Bob Saget and Dave Chappelle all show up.

As E! reports, John said, "I thought maybe I could kill two birds with one party. If you work at the Vanity Fair magazine party, please don't be mad at me because I really want to go next year. That's why I dressed up."

Given they're all dressed to the nines and the lighting and branding is on point, we definitely double-took and wondered why they were referring to the party as fake. He even organised Shake Shack to cater the party to rival the real Vanity Fair party's tradition of catering with In'N'Out burgers.

The real Vanity Fair party, if you're wondering, is THE party to be after the Oscars, with everyone from Paul Rudd, Miguel, Rashida Jones, Jason Momoa, Lady Gaga, Marilyn Manson (!), Kacey Musgraves, Jennifer Lopez, Jon Hamm, Amy Poehler, Willem Dafoe and many, many more in attendance and letting their hair down after the stuffy awards show. Check out all the inside photos from the party here.

And FYI, Halsey did go to the REAL Vanity Fair party after stopping by John's.
