Back in August, we got wind of Justin Timberlake in the studio with Lizzo and Meek Mill, and suffice it to say that we couldn't wait to see what resulted.
Now JT has opened up a little bit more about what we can expect from the collab in an interview with ET.
"I just called my publishers and I said, ‘I just wanna work with young, fresh people, and I want to collaborate more. I’ve been songwriting and producing for so long, I wanna experience that energy and I wanna work with people that I think are truly amazing and Lizzo came by.
When he met her, he said, "I was like, ‘I’m such a fan. If you ever wanna write…’ I think she thought I was lying, but we got in and we got a couple of ideas and I don’t know when they’re gonna come out, but they’re pretty good.
"It’s flames. It is so good. I’m so excited about it," he explained.
Turns out the "young, fresh people" he's been working with also includes SZA. As Rap-Up reports, SZA sounds similarly amped about the collab, saying, "Before I was like, ‘What the f**k am I doing in the studio with Justin Timberlake right now? This is crazy.
"But when I heard his music and we started singing together… It’s like, ‘Oh, we speak the same language. The same frequency.’ Our ears speak the same language. I understood where he was going before he could finish a run.”
Sounds like Justin's next album is gonna be much more fire than his last bluesy album, and we can't wait.
