The outpouring of love for Mac Miller since his passing last week has been nothing short of incredible. Now, frequent collaborator Kendrick Lamar has delivered his tribute to Mac and it's spot on.
Lamar appeared on Complex's Up Late With Rosenberg to reflect on his friend who he summed up as, "just a good dude."
"He’d pull up to the studio, give honest opinions. I’d play some music, he’d say, “I like that. You should do something right here.” Just whatever, man, and he was just true and selfless about it. Great musician. Great writer," he said.
"He just always had a smile on his face, and that’s just something I commend. No matter what he was going through, he didn’t make you feel sorry for him, you know? He was strong about it—always kept a smile on his face because he wanted you to smile, too."
The episode further featured tributes from Macklemore, Ty Dolla $ign, Lil Xan and more. You can check out the full episode below.
Miller and Lamar last collaborated on 2016's God Is Fair, Sexy Nasty off the former's record The Divine Feminine. That was one of three collaboration between the pair.
