Last month, the hip-hop and music community at large was rocked by the news of Nipsey Hussle's passing.
Since then, there has been an outpouring of love for the West Coast rapper, sending his major label debut Victory Hussle back up the charts, where it belongs.
DJ Khaled has now announced the first posthumous release from Nipsey - Higher.
Khaled explained in a heartfelt Instagram post that the pair filmed a video for the song just days before he passed and he has decided to share it with the "full blessing" of his family.
“The very title of the song reminds us that vibrating on a ‘Higher’ level was the essence of Nipsey’s soul,” he wrote.
“It is in this spirit, of moving forward, of preserving his mission, that I, my co-writers, producers, and label partners are donating 100% of all our proceeds from ‘Higher’ to Nipsey’s children, Emani and Kross.”
Khaled didn't attach a release date to the post but it's likely that it will arrive with his new album Father Of Asahd tomorrow.
