Melbourne/Naarm R&B artist PANIA has released her debut EP burnt ur clothes & changed the addy. Clocking in at just under 20 minutes, the seven-song EP includes PANIA's breakout single 'tiki' as well as the dancefloor-oriented 'MY CREW'.
PANIA is celebrating the release of burnt ur clothes & changed the addy with low-key launch events in Sydney and Melbourne this week. The artist will be performing at the Workers Club in Melbourne on Thursday, 17th November and Sydney's Golden Age Cinema on Saturday, 19th November.
PANIA recorded burnt ur clothes & changed the addy with producer HAMLEY, whose past credits include Stan Walker, Congrats and Genes. The record also includes writing and production from Friendless, Hugh Lake and Tuzi and a guest vocal from rapper Unamii on 'LETHIM4ALL'.
PANIA envisioned burnt ur clothes & changed the addy as a record that would encapsulate "the journey of everything we feel when it comes to [love]", including "excitement, loss, heartbreak" and "starting over."
It's an eminently contemporary sounding body of work, albeit one that pulsates with raw emotion and feelings of vulnerability. "But it’s still hard-hitting," said PANIA.
PANIA released her debut single 'ICYY' in May 2020. The artist's spirit of fierce independence immediately captured attention and landed her a leading role in an Adidas Originals campaign focused on West Melbourne's creative community.
A slot on the Listen Out festival tour followed, as well as inclusion in the Converse All Stars program. Meanwhile, both 'ICYY' and 'tiki' featured in Netflix's Heartbreak High.
PANIA is currently the face of Platypus’ holiday campaign, appearing in the TV ad performing a Platypus jingle that she created with HAMLEY.
PANIA's burnt ur clothes & changed the addy is out now via Say Less/Warner Music Australia.
