Following the release of his debut EP in 2017, Grey, Melbourne-based Buddy Ryan is back with an impressive new song called Bad Feelin, a gospel-tinged, soulful song that will sit in his upcoming EP.
A mature track with so much polish it's hard to believe it hails from an artist so new to the game, Buddy explains that the song is about the power of karma.
"The verse starts off talking about things that gives me bad feelings and then ends with a story about a dude named Keenan who came up and forgot about his squad but then soon gets confronted with karma. It’s kinda a song about karma and how real energy is.”
In the vein of Kanye's more church-inspired releases, the song packs good vibes and attitude in spades. Buddy Ryan actually grew up in Connecticut, went to college in Los Angeles and then moved to Melbourne, so the dude has seen the world.
It also means he has loads of music to draw influence from, from Jadakiss and Nas to Coldplay and Angus & Julia Stone.
