Perth musician Benjamin Witt has had a jam-packed few years, working as a session musician with the likes of Empire of the Sun, Pond and Meg Mac. In a past life, he's been part of beloved Perth four-piece The Chemist, while also recently touring with Methyl Ethel, The Drones and more. It's enough to keep anyone busy.
Benjamin's now stepping back into the limelight with his new project, Romeo Walker, and the first taste of this new project has us floating on air. He's getting ready to release the atmospheric Mood, and we're premiering the track right now!
The song was written while enjoying a bottle of red, and sounds like a leap forward in time. The vocals on the track have been modulated, and each element of the track comes together to create a soundscape that sounds both timeless and futuristic. If you're a fan of downtempo electronic music, then you'll dig this.
Speaking about Mood, Romeo says, "Mood is a modal tune & a sonic sketch of a modern mood. I don’t know why I made it but an orange tree doesn’t know why it makes oranges, it just makes oranges & is indifferent to how its oranges are received."
