Hip-hop music comes faster than any other genre. It's not uncommon for a rapper to drop upwards of three projects a year and while that's great, it becomes increasingly hard to stay on top of it. 'The Rap Wrap' is our attempt to keep you in the know on the weekly. This week, you're getting a highlight from the new Don Toliver record and a handful of DaBaby features.
Tyga - Freak (Feat. Megan Thee Stallion)
Tyga went through a career rejuvenation last year thanks to a number of club jams and now he's staying with that energy. Recruiting hot girl Meg Thee Stallion, he's crafted a bop that's sure to keep his run going.
Rich The Kid - Sick (Feat. DaBaby)
Rich The Kid's new record Boss Man dropped today and you know we're always going to gravitate to the DaBaby feature. Sick is strangely pertinent for these Coronavirus times with DaBaby rapping, "Bitch, I'm sick like I got the flu."
Don Toliver - Euphoria (Feat. Travis Scott & Kaash Paige)
We were waiting for that Scott feature on the new Don Toliver album and he came through. It's as woozy as we'd hoped for with Scott, Paige and Toliver all bringing their A-game.
Lil Uzi Vert - Celebration Station
After delivering That Way last week, Uzi followed it up by dropping the whole Eternal Atake record. You shouldn't skip one track but if you're going to delve into one go for the triumphant Celebration Station. It's an otherworldly track that might be the most joyous cut Uzi has ever made.
Lil Yachty - Oprah's Bank Account (Feat. Drake & DaBaby)
Another DaBaby feature but this time it's on Lil Yachty's Drake-featuring Oprah's Bank Account. This feels like a swift return to the spotlight for Yachty and as well as it being a banger he's delivered a hilarious, Oprah-parodying video.
Jack Harlow - 2STYLISH
Kentucky rapper Jack Harlow is having a huge year, breaking through with his track WHATS POPPIN. Now, he's dropped a new EP Sweet Action and it's wall-to-wall bangers. None feel quite as good as this smooth, cocky joint 2STYLISH.
