Hip-hop music comes faster than any other genre. It's not uncommon for a rapper to drop upwards of three projects a year and while that's great, it becomes increasingly hard to stay on top of it. 'The Rap Wrap' is our attempt to keep you in the know on the weekly. This week, we're giving you new tunes from Flume and Lizzo to Megan Thee Stallion.
Flume - How To Be In A Relationship (Feat. JPEGMAFIA)
Flume's surprise mixtape Hi This Is Flume gave us plenty of experimental electronic moments but it was the rap-featuring tracks that really got us excited. This one featuring JPEGMAFIA is one of the most exciting and challenging tracks of the year so far.
Rich The Kid - Two Cups (Feat. Offset & Big Sean)
Rich The Kid dropped The World Is Yours 2 today and it's got a stacked features list. We're digging this cut with Offset and Big Sean the most so far. It's a pristine trap cut with a hook that immediately swirls in the head.
Burna Boy x DJDS - Innocent Man
We weren't expecting it, but we're so happy this new Burna Boy and DJDS EP exists. Innocent Man introduces trap beats into Burna Boy's repertoire with DJDS bringing the soul with a vintage sample. It's different for both parties but it works.
Lizzo - Tempo (Feat. Missy Elliott)
This is just heat beginning to end. Lizzo is on top form as Missy acts as the best hype man of all time. Together, they've created the best club jam of the year so far.
Tierra Whack - Unemployed
Tierra Whack is five weeks into dropping one track a week and she's yet to drop a dud. Unemployed is her most rap-centred yet and it goes hard.
Megan Thee Stallion - Sex Talk
Megan Thee Stallion is generating so much hype purely by being an excellent rapper and she capitalises on that with a bedroom-ready new single.
