We don’t know how they do it time after time, but SAFIA without fail seem to write winner after winner. Right from the dawn of Listen To Soul, Listen To Blues, the Canberra trio seem to have been able to produce the rare combination of a) excellent song b) great production and c) immaculate vocal performance.
How Ben Woolner manages to hit those notes in song after song is beyond us but there have always been rumours that he has the capacity to shatter glass with his voice, if he should so choose it. Another rumour is that he’s currently number one in the longlist of actors to play The Banshee in the next Marvel blockbuster. Future acting opportunities aside though, this is as ever, going to be a big track for the band who are one of the true Triple J success stories of the past few years.
We’ve heard there’s a record on the cards soon and if new single Make Them Wheels Roll is a look at the direction they're going, then you can count us in like sheep.
